At Our Hotel

I have to tell you about what happened to my daughters.

Chris is one of the housekeepers a Davenport, Iowa hotel we visited. She’s pictured here with two of my daughters.

“Do you know where I can buy goggles for swimming?” I asked her. We forgot ours while traveling. I let her know that walking distance would be fine because my wife had our van.

She smiled and gave me a few options and I thanked her. A short time later there was a knock at our door. It was Chris and she was holding goggles in her hand for my daughters. She’d stopped her assigned duties to search the hotel lost and found. She said that she didn’t want me to have to walk and she wasn’t even sure that the stores would have goggles in stock because they are a seasonal item.

Her act of purposeful kindness changed the dynamic of not only our day but our entire stay. Thanks again Chris.
